Admin: New Required Fields for Project Information

This announcement represents a single point in time. Future releases may impact the information below.
Feature Announced: April 15, 2020  /  Feature Released: April 27, 2020

Required Fields for Project Information

Starting on April 27th, 2020, certain project information fields will be required for the Project Information page on the project's Admin tool and the Create Project page for new projects.

The following project information fields will be required on all new and existing projects:

  • Start Date: The date that the contract for the project is signed.
  • Completion Date: The date that all involved parties agree that the project will meet or has met substantial completion.
  • Total Value: The total amount of construction work that is performed, planned, or put in place during the project.
 Note
With this change, the fields are required for all projects regardless of their Stage (including any projects in a Bidding Stage). This is temporary until the release of Default Project Stages in the new Construction Volume Experience, which will only require the fields for projects in Course of Construction, Post-Construction, or Completed stages. See Admin: (Coming Soon!) Default Project Stages for more information about this release.

We're excited to announce the first phase of the new Construction Volume Experience. Procore will soon offer transparency and visibility into your project stages and usage with our new Construction Volume dashboard without the hassle of spreadsheets. More good news: You'll no longer be locked out of creating projects. Ensuring that these project fields are up-to-date will make it easier for you to migrate your information and unlock the new Construction Volume Experience. This updated information will help Procore accurately calculate your Construction Volume. See Admin: (Coming Soon!) Construction Volume Dashboard for more information about this future release.

This update will affect existing projects that do not already have the required fields filled out in the project's Admin tool. For instructions on how to update your project information, see Update General Project Information.

These fields will also be required on any new projects created from the Company level Portfolio tool. For instructions on how to create a new project, see Create a New Project.

No. You will still be able to navigate Procore and use your available tools. Users will only be prompted to provide these fields when creating a new project or updating project information.
