Coordination Issues: Move Coordination Issues to Observations

This announcement represents a single point in time. Future releases may impact the information below.
Feature Announced: January 13, 2020  /  Feature Released: January 17, 2020

Create New Observations Directly from Coordination Issues

Procore has released a new feature that allows you to move coordination issues from the Coordination Issues tool to observations in the Observations tool. See Move a Coordination Issue to an Observation. This is useful if a coordination issue is no longer considered an active issue on the coordination side, but still needs to be tracked and resolved by field teams later on. It also helps bridge the gap between field and design management teams, and creates a process for signing off on models. Moving a coordination issue to an observation ensures that important information, such as snapshots and the location, is pulled into the observation for field teams to be able to reference.

This feature is available in the Coordination Issues tool on app.procore.com, as well as the Procore plugin in Navisworks®. To create an observation from a coordination issue, the issue must be in the 'Open' or 'Released' status, and you must have 'Admin' permissions to the Coordination Issues tool and 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions to the Observations tool. After clicking Move to Observation, a new modal opens, which allows you to create the new observation without needing to navigate to the Observations tool (see image below).
Note: The Title, Description, Location, and Attachments fields are automatically populated based off the coordination issue.

Note: The original coordination issue will still exist in the Coordination Issues tool, but the status will change to 'Moved to Observation'. This action will also be recorded in the Activity Feed of the coordination issue.
