Summary of Recent Updates to the Directory Tools
In past months, Procore has released a series of updates for the Company and Project level Directory tools. These updates were designed to improve the experience for users with 'Admin' level permission and intended to simplify routine user administration tasks. Updates that have been made in recent weeks include:
- Added the Bulk Actions > Inactivate drop-down menu on the Company Directory.
- Added the ability to Bulk Actions > Remove from Project drop-down menu on the Project Directory.
- Redesigned the Edit Contact page in the Project Directory.
- Removed the 'Inactivate Users' granular permission on the permission templates feature.
How do these updates affect tasks in the Company and Project Directory?
With the combination of updates that have been released in recent weeks, here is a summary of how these updates affect user administration tasks in Procore web application.
For users who have been granted 'Admin' level permission on the Company Directory, you have the ability to:
- Deactivate one or more user accounts using the new Bulk Actions > Inactivate menu in the Company Directory. To learn more, see Deactivate User Accounts in the Company Directory.
- Reactivate user accounts in either the Company Directory and Project Directory. To learn more, see Reactivate a User in the Company Directory and Reactivate a User in the Project Directory.
- Remove users from a Project Directory. You can remove a single user from a Project Directory from the Edit Contact page. See Remove a Single User from a Project. You can also remove users from a project in bulk. See Use Bulk Actions > Inactivate in the Company Directory.
- Edit user account information in the Project Directory using the redesigned Edit Contact page. See Edit a User Account in the Project Directory.
For users who have been granted 'Admin' level permission on the Project Directory, you have the ability to:
- Remove users from a Project Directory. You can remove a single user from a project from the Edit Contact page. See Remove a Single User from a Project. You can also remove users from a project in bulk. See Remove a Batch of User Accounts from a Project Directory. You do NOT have the ability to inactivate users at the project level.
- Edit user account information in the Project Directory using the redesigned Edit Contact page. See Edit a User Account in the Project Directory.
