Respond to and Close an RFI from a Connected Project

 In Beta
Procore Connect is a feature that allows you to send items from one project to another after setting up a project connection. If you would like to join the beta, please reach out to your Procore point of contact.

To respond to and close an RFI from a connected project.

After setting up a connection with another Procore project on the Project Connections page in the Project level Admin tool, you can send RFIs to the other project. This is especially useful if two separate companies are both using Procore and want to save time by sending items to each other's project. After the RFI is sent, a 'Draft' version of the RFI will appear in the connected project's account where users with 'Admin' level permissions on the connected project's RFIs tool can either respond to the RFI or assign the RFI to another user in their project.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's RFIs tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • If no default RFI Manager has been set, no email notification will be sent when a connected project sends an RFI to your project. We recommend selecting a default RFI Manager before or at the same time as setting up a project connection. See Designate the Default RFI Manager for a Project's RFIs.
    • The number given to the RFI in connected project's account displays in the 'Connected RFIs' field in the RFI's 'General Information' section.
    • Responses not marked as 'Official' are not shared with the connected project.

  1. Navigate to the project's RFIs tool.
  2. Click View next to the RFI sent from the connected project.
  3. Review the RFI's 'General Information' and 'Question' sections.
  4. Optional: Click Edit to edit any of the RFI's information. See Edit an RFI.
Any edits made to the RFI will not be reflected in the version in the connected project.
  5. If you have designated one or more users as an Assignee for the RFI, complete the following:
  6. If you are responsible for responding to the RFI, add your response to the RFI. See Reply to an RFI and Choose an "Official Response" for an RFI.
  7. Click Respond & Close to send the response to the connected project the RFI originated from.
  8. In the 'Send Response & Close RFI' window, click Respond & Close.
