What is a Workforce Allocation Type?
Background
The Workforce Planning tool provides real-time insight into your workforce's availability, workforce requests and workforce assignments. You can create workforce requests and assignments and view them based the number of hours a person is assigned, or by the percent of time a person is allocated to a project.
Answer
An Allocation Type allows you to request or assign your workforce based on specific hours, or a percent that a person is allocated to a certain project.
Hours
When creating a workforce request or assignment, if you choose Hours as your 'Allocation Type', you can enter the specific hours that a person is working.
Percent
When creating a workforce request or assignment, if you choose Percent as your 'Allocation Type', you can enter the percent that the person is allocated to that project each day of the assignment. Specific hours of the day are not considered.
Example
In this example, if a person is working on two projects equally, you would create two assignments, one for each project with an allocation of 50%
