Add Photos to a Drawing (iOS)

Objective

To link photos to a drawing on the Procore iOS app.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions: 
    • To add photos to a drawing, 'Read Only' or higher permissions on the project's Drawings tool AND 'Read Only' or higher permissions on the project's Photos tool.
      Note: Users with 'Read Only' permissions to the Photos tool can only select photos that already exist in the Photos tool, while users with 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions can also add new photos. 
    • To publish personal markups to the Published layer, 'Standard' or 'Admin' on the project's Drawings tool. See What is the difference between personal and published markups?
  • Additional Information:
    • Photos added to drawings will also appear in the Photos tool in a 'Photos from Drawings' album. The 'Origin' field on the photos will indicate when a photo was uploaded from the Drawings tool.
      Note: Photos from a markup will only show in the 'Photos from Drawings' album if the markup has been published. 

Steps

  1. Open the Procore app on your iOS mobile device.
  2. Tap the project's Drawings tool.
  3. Tap the drawing you want to add photos to. 
  4. Tap the Pin  icon-drawing-markup-pin-ios.png  icon in the markup toolbar.
  5. Tap the Photo  icon-drawing-markup-photo-ios.png  icon.
  6. Tap the area of the drawing you want to add the photo(s) to.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Choose from Procore: Tap this option to select an existing photo from your project's Photos tool. 
    • Choose from Library: Tap this option to select a photo file from your mobile device's photos library. 
      Optional: Add a comment to the photo before adding it to the drawing.
    • Take Photo: Tap this option to take a new photo with your device's camera. 
      Optional: Add a markup to the photo before adding it to the drawing.
  8. Tap Save or Done to attach the photo to the drawing.
  9. Optional: Publish the photo pin. 
    1. Tap the Select icon, then tap the photo pin.
      Note: If you want to publish multiple markups at once, select the Lasso option under 'Select', then draw a shape around the markups.
    2. Tap Publish.
      Note: If you want to move a published photo pin, tap the pin using the Select tool, then tap Move
