Configure Costing in Workforce Planning
Objective
To configure costing settings in Workforce Planning.
Background
Costing allows you to calculate and forecast costs as they relate to your workforce by entering wages and determining how many hours of each shift are paid hours. You can also manage overtime settings.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the Workforce Planning tool and 'Admin' level permissions within the Workforce Planning tool. See Create Permissions Templates for Workforce Planning.
OR
'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the Workforce Planning tool with the 'Edit Costing Settings and 'View Costing Settings' granular permissions within the Workforce Planning tool. See Create Permissions Templates for Workforce Planning.

- When viewing the Assignment Gantt and Totals Dashboard:
- Totals and allocations reflect the data entered in Paid Hours Per Shift.
- Totals and allocations reflect additional hours beyond the Paid Hours per Shift when Overtime is enabled.

Steps
- Navigate to the Company level Workforce Planning tool.
- Click the Configure Settings icon.
- Click Costing.
- Enter the number of 'Paid Hours Per Shift'.
- Optional: Move the toggle for 'Allow Overtime Configuration' to the ON position to allow overtime.
- Enter the 'Overtime Rates' per day of the week.
Note: These rates apply to any overtime hours scheduled for the corresponding work day when costing calculations are performed. What you setup here is used as a default but can also be overridden on each assignment as needed.
- Enter the 'Overtime Rates' per day of the week.
- Click Save.
