Import Deficiency List Items into your Project Level Deficiency List Tool (Procore Imports)


To import deficiency list items into your Deficiency List tool with Procore Imports.


You can use the Procore Imports app to self-import your deficiency list items in bulk to your Project's Deficiency List tool. This will add as many deficiency list items to your project as you need without having to manually add each deficiency list item in Procore.

Things to Consider 

  • Required User Permissions: 
    • 'Admin' level permission on the project's Deficiency List tool.
    • 'Admin' level permission on the project's Admin tool.
    • 'Standard' level permission or higher on the project's Directory tool.

Note: Granular Permissions are not supported in the Procore Imports application.

  • Additional Information:
    • This feature is only available to computers running Windows 7 or newer. See Install Procore Imports.
    • This import can only be used to add deficiency list items. Your import will not edit or delete any existing deficiency list items in your project.




  1. Prepare and format your deficiency list items for import to Procore. See Prepare Deficiency List Items for Import to the Procore Imports App


  1. In your Procore Imports App, on the "Companies & Projects" page, select the company and project you want to import deficiency list items into.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. Under the 'Deficiency' section, click Add New Deficiency Items.
  4. Choose from the following options:
  5. Choose Select Template File to upload an XLSX or CSV file of your deficiency list items from your local device.
  6. Click Process.
  7. Review your deficiency list items.
    Note: If there are any errors in the import, a list of the errors will be provided. You can then "Save Errors to continue" to download a copy of the errors to compare against your original import file.
  8. Choose from the following options:
    • Save records to computer: Select this option to save your records as an XLSX or CSV file and return to complete the import process at another time.
    • Import to Procore: Select this option to proceed with the import process.
  9. Confirm your decision to import your Deficiency list by typing your project's name in the text field and clicking Proceed.
  10. Click Finish.
