Take and Add Photos to an Album (iOS)

Objective

To take and add photos to an album in the project's Photos tool using an iOS mobile device.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permission on the project's Photos tool.

Steps

Take a New Photo

  1. Tap the Camera icon-camera-mobile.png tool in the Procore app using an iOS mobile device.
    OR
    Tap the Photos tool. Tap the create icon-plus-quick-create-mobile2.png icon, then tap Camera.
  2. Tap the Album menu to select an album for the photo.
    Note: The photo will be saved to the 'Unclassified' album if no other album is selected.

  3. Optional: If you want to create a new album:
    1. Tap Create Album.
    2. Enter a name for the album and tap Save.
    3. Select the new album from the list. 
  4. The following photo options are available:
    • Timestamp: Tap the T icon to add or remove a timestamp on the photo.
    • Flash: Tap the flash  icon to change the flash setting.
      Note: Continue tapping to go through the different flash settings (off, on, and automatic). 
    • Focus: Tap the screen where you want the camera to focus. 
    • Mark Up: Tap the mark up icon-markup.png icon to take the photo and immediately mark it up. See Mark Up a Photo.
    • Location: Tap the location icon-location-pin.png icon to add your location to the image. 
    • Drawing: Tap the drawing icon-quick-capture-drawing-area-ios.png icon to select a location on a drawing where you want the photo pinned. 
    • Zoom: Adjust the zoom level on your device. For example, tap 2 to zoom in. 
    • Switch Camera: Tap the flip camera  icon to switch between your device's front and back-facing cameras. 
  5. Take the photo.
    • Take a photo without mark up.
      1. Tap the shutter to take a photo.
    • Take a photo with mark up.
      1. Tap the mark up icon-markup.png icon to take the photo and immediately mark it up.
      2. Tap the shutter to take a photo.
      3. Mark up the photo.
  6. Optional: Make additional updates to your photo. If you took the photo in mark up mode, these options are already available. If you took the photo without mark up mode enabled, tap the photo thumbnail to open the 'Recent Photos' tray to perform the following tasks:
    • Delete: Select this option if you would like to delete your photo.
      Note: Only 'Admin' level users on the Photos tool can delete photos.
      Description: Tap Add description to enter a description for the photo.
      Trade: Select this option if you would like to assign a trade to the photo.
      Location: Tap the location icon-location-pin.pngicon to assign a location to the photo.
      Photo Information: Tap the information icon-info-with-bkgd-android.svg icon to see more photo details.
      Privacy: Adjust the privacy setting on the photo.
      Markup: Add markups to a photo. See Mark up a Photo (iOS).
  7. Save your photo.
    • Tap Save to save your photo.
    • If you used mark up and want to save both the original and marked up photo, mark Save as New Photo option, then tap Save.
    • If you used mark up and want to only save the marked up photo, clear the Save as New Photo option, then tap Overwrite.

To Add a Photo from your Mobile Device to an Album

  1. Navigate to the project's Photos tool using an iOS mobile device.
  2. Tap the create icon-plus-quick-create-mobile2.png icon.
  3. Tap Choose from Library and locate the photos you want to select.
  4. Tap each photo you want to add.
  5. Tap Add
  6. Optional: Enter information for the photo. See Edit a Photo's Information (iOS).
  7. Tap Upload Photos.
    Note: The photos are automatically added to the selected album in the Photos tool.
