Create a Commitment Change Order (CCO) with DocuSign®
Objective
To create a Commitment Change Order (CCO) with DocuSign®.
Background
If you have a DocuSign® account, you are able to track the status of a signed document in Procore. You can receive, review and return their signed contracts online, at any time and from any Internet-enabled device.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Commitments tool.
AND - 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Change Events tool.
- 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Commitments tool.
- Additional Information:
- Once you have signed in to DocuSign® through Procore, you will not need to sign in again.
- To create CCO without using the DocuSign® integration, see Create a Commitment Change Order (CCO) or Create a Commitment Change Order (CCO) from a Change Event.
- To request signatures using the Procore + DocuSign® integration, you must have an active DocuSign® account. For details, see:
Steps
- Navigate to the appropriate tool for your environment:
- If the following conditions are true, navigate to the project's Change Events tool:
- Your company has enabled the Change Events tool on the project. See Should I enable the Change Events tool on my existing project?
- Your company is using a 1-tier change order structure. See What are the different change order tiers?
OR
- If the following conditions are true, navigate to the project's Commitments tool. Then locate the commitment that you are creating a change order for in the Commitments list and click Edit:
- Your company is using a 2-tier change order structure. See What are the different change order tiers?
- Your company is using a 3-tier change order. See What are the different change order tiers?
- Your company has NOT enabled the Change Events tool on the project.
- If the following conditions are true, navigate to the project's Change Events tool:
- Click Create a Commitment CO by following the appropriate steps described in:
- Place a mark in the Sign with DocuSign® checkbox.
- When your CCO is ready, click Complete with DocuSign®.
- If you have not logged into DocuSign® from Procore before, complete these login steps:
- Enter the email address for your DocuSign® account.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your password.
- Click Log In.
- Enter the email address for your DocuSign® account.
- Once you are in DocuSign®, Procore's contract PDF will pre-populate as a document in DocuSign®, or you can choose to add your own document.
- Upload documents by doing one of the following:
- Upload
- Use a Template
- Get From Cloud
- If you are not using a custom form, DocuSign® will pre-populate recipient roles. If you choose to use the pre-populated roles, then DocuSign® will pre-place the signing tags in the correct position.
- Click Send to send the document for signature. Once the DocuSign® workflow is complete, the change order status will change to "Approved." (If Procore Workflow is not being used).
Note: You can still manually edit the change order status if necessary.
