Configure Tax Code Settings

Objective
To enable the tax codes feature at the company level and to configure the settings for this feature.
Background
If you are a Procore client in Australia, New Zealand or Canada, you have the ability to set one (1) tax type for your projects. You can also add multiple tax codes for the tax type. This is useful for Procore clients who want to add a Good & Services Tax (GST) or Value-Added Tax (VAT).
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' level permssions on the Company Admin tool
- 'Admin' level permssions on the Company Admin tool
- Additional Information:
- Enabling the tax codes feature in the Company Admin tool makes the feature available on all of your company's Procore projects. By default, tax codes are disabled on projects.
- To enable the feature on a per-project basis, see Update General Project Information.
- Limitations:
- You create create one (1) tax type. Multiple tax types are NOT permitted.

Coming Soon Sage 300 CRE®- To sync Procore tax codes with Sage 300 CRE® tax groups, send an email request to your Procore point of contact or to a Integration Implementation Specialist at erpsupport@procore.com. For more details, see Setup the Import Sage 300 CRE® Tax Groups Feature.
- If your company is using the ERP Integrations tool to import Sage 300 CRE® tax codes and tax groups into Procore, you will not be able to export subcontractor invoices to Sage 300 CRE®. Enable the Tax Codes Setting
- Navigate to the company's Admin tool.
- Under Tool Settings, click Tax Codes.
- Under Tax Code Settings, place a checkmark in the Use Tax Codes box.
- Click Save.
Set the Tax Type
- Navigate to the company's Admin tool.
- Under Tool Settings, click Tax Codes.
- Under Tax Type, you can create one (1) tax type as follows:
- Name. Enter the name of the tax type. For example, enter GST (for Goods & Services Tax) or VAT (for Value-Added Tax). After you click Save, the name you enter here is updated on the [Tax Type] in the Tax Codes section of this page.
- Description. Enter a descriptive name for the tax type. Typically, the name of the tax type will be abbreviated, so the description field lets you provide more information about the tax type. For example, enter Goods & Services Tax or Value-Added Tax.
- Click Add

- If you want to delete the tax type, click the red X button
next to the tax type line item.
Add a Tax Code
- Navigate to the company's Admin tool.
- Under Tool Settings, click Tax Codes.
- Under Tax Codes, add a tax code as follows:
- Code. Enter the name of the tax code in the box. Type the name as you want it to appear in the 'Tax Code' field in the Change Orders, Commitments and Prime Contract tools.
- Description. Enter a brief description of the tax code. Typically, the name of the tax code is abbreviated, so use this field to provide more detail for end users about the tax code.
- [Tax Type]. The name of this field matches the name you assigned to the tax type. Enter a number in this field, which will be the percentage rate used for this tax code.
- Default. Mark this check box to set it as the default tax code. This tax code will be selected by default in the Tax Code field on prime contracts, commitments and change orders.
- Click Add
next to the line item to save the tax code.
- If you want to delete a tax code, click the red X button
next to the tax code line item. You cannot delete tax codes that are currently assigned to a contract or change order line item.
