Approve and Sign a Subcontract

Objective

To approve and sign a subcontract after awarding a winning tender.

Background

Because subcontracts are legally enforceable, collecting the appropriate signatures on the project's subcontracts is recommended. Procore clients can choose between two methods for managing the signature process:

  • Wet Signature. If the project team decides to collect physical signatures on their subcontracts, collaborators will use the Steps below.
  • Electronic Signature. If the project team decides to collect digital signatures using the the Procore + DocuSign® integration, see Complete a Commitment Contract with DocuSign®.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission:
    • None
  • Additional Information:
    • This article details steps that are completed outside of Procore.
 Important
  • If the contract's creator is using the Procore + DocuSign® integration, you may be asked to digitally sign the contract instead of using the steps below. Collaborators who are asked to sign a contract are responsible for confirming the proper signature requirements with the contract's creator.
  • To learn about signing a contract with DocuSign®, see Complete a Commitment Contract with DocuSign®.
